Get in better shape !
I get asked a lot of questions on how to get into better Tennis shape?
Well, in tennis there is a lot of sprinting and stopping so the training has to be tailored towards that mindset. Running long distances alone won’t put you in good shape for tennis. The key is doing a lot of intervals, whether you choose to run outside or on the treadmill. This helps your body get used to all the body blows that you might get on the tennis court; that ranges from 5 sprints in a row to 4 gradual sprints.
If you happen to have a treadmill at home or at your gym and good way to start doing intervals is to follow this process. 6% incline with 6.5 speed for 30 seconds then 6% incline and 3.5 speed for 30 seconds. Do that for 20 min and you will get yourself in good shape. The key is to do it consistently.
Good Luck!

Great advice! Although I still prefer to run outside when it’s a sunny day.

i think that running long distances will help you get into tennis shape because if you don’t have a good endurance, you would not be able to keep on running around constantly, while hitting the ball at the same time. You need to work on speed, and endurance at the same time. That will help you to be able to keep up with the ball, without getting tired.
